Tips and Tricks
Role & Strategy
- Unholy Host is a fighter with the powerful ability to strip away enemy BUFFS and afflicting them with CURSE, preventing them from gaining any further buffs. In addition, she also drains health from opponents when they are under the effects of CURSE, making her a highly effective variant on both offense and defense.
- CURSE is a powerful DEBUFF that can severely remove a lot of defenders' defensive capabilities, allowing Unholy Host to use Black Dahlia's arsenal of powerful tools to take down strong defenders without much effort. This ability also works on defense, making it difficult to take her down without any BUFFS on top of her high health.
- Non-permanent Immunity will not protect enemies from Unholy Host's CURSE, as her BUFF removal takes place before the Immunity takes effect. Splitting Image can gain an unremovable IMMUNITY, while Weekend Warrior and Black Dahlia with TEA SLIP equipped can remove the debuff, making them very effective against her.
- Despite possessing subpar ATK, Unholy Host's secondary ability more than compensates for this weakness by providing a means for her to recover her own health while depleting her opponent's. This ability is both potent and easy to trigger, and her Curse DEBUFF lasts for 20 seconds, draining 40% of the enemy's health. Furthermore, Black Dahlia can inflict CURSE by using the Blockbuster EMPOWER, meaning she can consistently drain the opponent's health throughout the match.
- Marquee Ability: Both Marquee Abilities will work with Unholy Host depending on whether she is used in offense or defense. METAL BREAKDOWN is recommended for offensive use, allowing Unholy Host to inflict ARMOR BREAK for more damage. NO TIME TO DIE is recommended for defensive use, increasing her defensive capabilities and recovery while also making her an anti-crit defender.
Stat Investment
- General Investment: If used in offense, Unholy Host is best built with Attack, Special Cooldown, Crit Damage and Crit Rate. Due to Dahlias Prestige Ability that grants DEADEYE and Marquee Ability which inflicts ARMOR BREAK, Piercing can be completely ignored. If used defensively, Corrosive agent is best built with HP, Meter Gain, Defense and Resistance.
- Special investment: Investing in Accuracy will ensure that her CURSE is not resisted by enemies. Crit Damage and Crit Rate are also optional, as she can also be built critless.
Playing Against
- Both of Unholy Host's abilities work very well in defense, shutting down player's fighters through CURSE upon TAG IN, making it difficult to take her down on top of her high health. Furthermore, her drain ability is very powerful, providing her the means to recover health like Splitting Image. Players will often find themselves without any active BUFFS when facing her and would have to rely on effects and abilities.
- Black Dahlia's defensive Marquee Ability, NO TIME TO DIE, also provides her multiple stacks of REGEN and HASTE, making her even more resilient in combat and enabling her to quickly charge her devastating Unblockable Tier 3 Blockbusters. This combination of defensive attributes can make it difficult to fight against Unholy Host in high-level Rift Battles where additional modifiers and catalysts also come into play.
Trivia
- This variant is a reference to Alcina Dimitrescu, one of the main antagonists of Resident Evil Village, with its caption being a direct quote from the character.
- This variant's card pose is a reference to Lady Dimitrescu's gigantic stature (9 ft, 6 in), hence why it is out of frame.
