Role & Strategy[]

  • Solar Flair is an offensive fighter who can gain permanent HASTE and 5 stacks of ENRAGE when activating STAR POWER while at full meter. This allows her to deal significant damage and also charge her blockbusters faster. This is complemented by her first Signature Ability that passively increases the rate of accumulating STAR POWER.
    • Do take note that the permanent BUFFS are not truly "permanent" and will be removed when exiting STAR POWER. It is more accurate to think of the BUFFS having a timer equivalent to how long players wants to stay in STAR POWER.
  • In exchange for the permanent BUFFS, Solar Flair is also afflicted by FATIGUE for 5 seconds, which has a 50% chance to STUN once it expires. This makes it risky to use her and also limits her overall combo potential, as it puts a 5-second timer before her combos are potentially interrupted by the STUN.
    • It is recommended to bring support fighters that can grant IMMUNITY such as Surgeon General or Sketchy, who can prevent the FATIGUE or STUN from applying, allowing Solar Flair access to her permanent BUFFS without having to worry about getting halted.
    • Annie's tier 3 Blockbuster, PHOTO BOP, transfers all debuffs to the opponent, making it an excellent option for getting rid of the FATIGUE or STUN, while doing a chunk of damage and starting damaging combos all at the same time. The FATIGUE will immediately be removed on transfer, however, as it needs STAR POWER to stay up.
    • The FATIGUE will also be removed when exiting STAR POWER, so players can exit STAR POWER early to remove the FATIGUE and avoid the potential STUN.
  • Early Game Investment: Although Solar Flair has access to massive damage, she also comes with the drawback of being very risky. Getting stunned in the middle of a match can make it tricky to use her, and even get your fighters killed. Due to this, investing in Solar Flair in the early game is not recommended.
  • Marquee Ability: Solar Flair will benefit from RED SHIFT to further increase her damage output through subsequent uses of blockbusters and special moves in combos.
  • Stat Investment: As an offensive variant, Solar Flair will benefit from investment in ATK and Piercing to further increase her damage. As well as Special Cooldown, Crit Rate and Crit Damage to increase her damage scaling even further.

Trivia[]

  • This variant is a reference to Sol Badguy, the main protagonist of the Guilty Gear series, with its caption being a lyric from bad guy by Billie Eilish
  • As the name suggests, this variant's Signature Ability draws inspiration from Dragon Install, one of Sol Badguy's Overdrives, that grants him increased movement and buffed special moves which is reflected through the permanent HASTE and ENRAGE that Annie gains. However, once Dragon Install expires, Sol will be left momentarily helpless as he recovers from the transformation, reflected through the FATIGUE that Annie suffers.
