Role & Strategy[]
- Shadow Puppet is an offensive fighter with a unique Signature Ability that allows her to freeze time when suffering a fatal hit. During this time, she also gains 5 stacks of MIASMA, allowing the player to recover her health back easily to retaliate and finish the opponent. Furthermore, her first Signature Ability that can reset BUFFS and DEBUFFS is immensely powerful and can easily be combined with support fighters such as Surgeon General or Sketchy, which can lead to her gaining "timeless" IMMUNITY and inflict "timeless" CURSE. Even though the chance of activation is quite low, Fukua's combo game is great and her kit features a few high hit count moves, making it likely she can trigger it within a combo.
- Shadow Puppet boasts one of the highest ATK stat in the game, and has easy access to MIASMA through her second Signature Ability and her Taunt, BREAKDOWN. This along with her ability to reset her own buffs means that she can brute-force her way through many fights.
- Some interesting notes about her second Signature Ability and its activation:
- Shadow Puppet can activate her second Signature Ability when she "dies" from DOOM, damage reflection, and POWER SURGE.
- Shadow Puppet will not activate her second Signature Ability if she dies from Immoral Fiber's first Signature Ability.
- Double's Transmutation ability works while time is frozen. This can happen if Double "kills" Shadow Puppet with a grab and immediately blocks before time freezes.
- Shortly after time freezes, there's a split second where it unfreezes (which happens when Fukua is getting up after a knockdown). This can be abused by queuing up a Blockbuster right after a normal attack triggers the time stop, as it will start up the Blockbuster in that split second, giving the player character invincibility frames for the rest of the time stop and preventing Shadow Puppet from using Blockbusters herself.
- If Heart of Darkness steals Shadow Puppet's Signature Ability and uses Catellite Lives while time is frozen, the cat heads will enter the screen and then become frozen. This restarts time for about 1 frame before freezing again.
- Marquee Ability: Both of Fukua's Marquee Abilities only activates when a certain percentage of health is lost, which is unfavorable when used offensively. Players who are proficient at Fukua will have ways to minimize damage as much as possible and avoid getting hit. Given Shadow Puppet's ability to prevent death once, SPECTRAL SPITE is recommended to further increase her damage output at low health.
- Due to the nature of her Signature Ability, Shadow Puppet can be built as a Critless Variant.
Stat Investment[]
- General Investment: As an offensive Fukua, Shadow Puppet is best built with Attack, Piercing, Meter Gain and Special Cooldown.
- Special investment: Crit Rate and Crit Damage will allow her to deal more damage when using moves like LOBS OF LOVE or TWICE SHY.
