Tips and Tricks[]

Role & Strategy[]

  • Raining Champ is a defensive support fighter with a Signature Ability that provides her teammates with defensive BUFFS periodically while gaining permanent stacks of ARMOR while her teammates are alive. This allows her to be significant support fighter that cannot be defeated easily due to the ARMOR stacks.
  • Support fighters are often the first fighter that needs to be defeated in a fight to prevent their abilities. However, Raining Champ makes this complicated with her permanent ARMOR stacks and UNFLINCHING. Hence, it is recommended to defeat her teammates first by using variants that have access to plenty of BUFF removal to get rid of the HASTE and FINAL STAND, such as Phantom Threads and Summer Salt, or through variants that can reliably inflict CURSE to prevent those BUFFS, such as Beast King and Purrfect Dark.
  • As a defender, BURST and Umbrella's unblockable Tier 3 blockbuster, FEEDING TIME, are staple moves for Raining Champ. TONGUE TWISTER is also recommended to equip as it is a ranged command grab that cannot be blocked.
  • Marquee Ability: Raining Champ will benefit more from BITTER END as her Marquee Ability for additional sustain and FINAL STAND.
  • Stat Investment: As a defensive fighter, Raining Champ will benefit from investment in HP, Defense and Resistance to further increase her survivability in a fight. Meter Gain is also a helpful stat to charge blockbusters faster and punish opponents with an unblockable Tier 3 blockbuster. With 50% Defense, Raining Champ will be practically immune to direct damage from opponents who don't have Piercing built while she still has a teammate.

Trivia[]

  • This variants color palette is a reference to Iris, the champion of the Unova Region from Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 from the Pokémon franchise, with her caption being a direct quote from the character. Furthermore, Hungern's color palette references Axew, the Pokémon she trains in Pokémon the Series: Black & White.
  • This variants name is a play on words "Reigning Champ", given that Iris is a champion in her game, while also referencing that an umbrella is used while it is raining.
