MIND OVER MATTER
SA 1 When HITTING an attacking opponent, gain DEADEYE and inflict INVERSE POLARITY for 10/12/15 seconds each.

Tips and Tricks[]

Role & Strategy[]

  • Psykid is an offensive fighter with a powerful ability to reset timers of BUFFS and DEBUFFS after a wall-bounce. Furthermore, she can also easily gain DEADEYE, a strong BUFF that ignores DEFENSE and defensive BUFFS like UNFLINCHING, EVASION, THORNS and AUTO-BLOCK while also inflicting INVERSE POLARITY to counter healing defenders. Altogether, this combination of abilities provides Psykid the offensive edge to face against a lot of common defenders in the game.
  • Umbrella is a multi-hit fighter with very little means to face heavy BUFF defenders. DEADEYE alone brings a lot to the table on a lackluster kit and allows Psykid to turn Umbrella's multi-hit potential into a very powerful asset by ignoring certain defensive BUFFS. But Psykid's biggest strength is in her second ability to refresh BUFFS and DEBUFFS with a wall-bounce. This allows Umbrella's signature DEBUFF, SLIME, to be repeatedly refreshed and stacked to counter BUFF heavy defenders reliably, while also opening up lots of potential from support variants such as Prism Plumage, Surgeon General and Sketchy that can provide other meaningful BUFFS from the bench for additional utility.
  • To reliably inflict a wall-bounce, it is recommended to adopt a playstyle that takes advantage of Umbrella's OVERSTUFFED state and to push the opponent in the corner as much as possible. The blockbuster TONGUE TWISTER is an excellent move to fill the HUNGER METER towards OVERSTUFFED while providing healing and knocking the opponent to the far end for a wall-bounce. Furthermore, when OVERSTUFFED, Umbrella's DASH ATTACK can knock the opponent far for a wall-bounce as well and Umbrella's grab can be a reliable way for a wall-bounce if the opponent is already in the corner.
  • Marquee Ability: BITTER END is the recommended Marquee Ability for Psykid, as it allows her to survive longer in the match by having a FINAL STAND and HEAVY REGEN safety net. This also allows her to loop FINAL STAND.

Stat Investment[]

  • General Investment: As an offensive Umbrella, Psykid is best built with Attack, Piercing, Meter Gain and Special Cooldown.
  • Special investment: Accuracy will ensure that her INVERSE POLARITY is not resisted by enemies.

Trivia[]

  • This variant's color palette is a reference to Anya Forger and Bond Forger from the Japanese manga series, SPY x FAMILY written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo.
  • Her caption is a reference to the quote "Nothing Mama Teaches Me Ever Helps." from episode 10 of the anime and chapter "Short Mission 4" from the manga but changed to be in line with Umbrella's character background.
