Tips and Tricks[]
Role & Strategy[]
- Poltergust is an offensive fighter with a Signature Ability that enables her to dish out massive amounts of damage using blockbusters when the opponent has a blockbuster fully charged. She capitalizes on the expiration of any BUFFS on the field to charge her blockbusters, making it easier for her to repeatedly use them against BUFF-heavy opponents.
- Poltergust can be paired with support fighters that grant BUFFS such as Surgeon General, Sketchy and Persona Assistant to exploit her second Signature Ability for faster meter gain, especially as she herself does not have much in terms of BUFFS.
- Poltergust is very effective against opponents that rely on timed defensive BUFFS such as Untouchable, Armed Forces, Resonant Evil, and Heavy Metal.
- It is important to note that removing BUFFS does not trigger Poltergust's abilities. This also applies with DEBUFFS that removes BUFFS, like with how ARMOR BREAK removes ARMOR.
- Pay attention to the opponent's moveset and meter to maximize her damage. This is especially important as Squigly has a wide array of moves that can inflict WITHER such as ASHES TO ASHES, BATTLE OPERA and INFERNO OF LEVIATHAN. Players will have to prioritize meter control or damage output depending on the situation.
- Marquee Ability: Either Marquee Ability works with Poltergust since both conditions require her to be dead. EVIL DEAD can be useful on the offense to inflict both CURSE and WITHER, making it easier for the next fighter to defeat opponents. DEAD ALIVE is better to be used defensively, providing other teammates FINAL STAND to increase the longevity of your defensive fighters and stall for time.
- Stat Investment: As an offensive variant, Poltergust will benefit from investment in ATK and Piercing to increase her damage output. Meter Gain may be less of a priority given her inherent ability to gain meter, but in fights with next to no BUFFS active, it'll give her easier access to her highly damaging blockbusters.
Rift Battles[]
- Poltergust is especially effective against nodes with the Frost Armor or Armor Rating catalyst as she can easily charge up her blockbuster once the ARMOR stacks disappear. Furthermore, moves such as DRAG 'N' DROP can be used to deal massive damage while also removing any ARMOR via ARMOR BREAK.
Trivia[]
- This variant's color palette is a reference to Dead Master, the antagonist of the Black★Rock Shooter manga.
