Not to be confused with Modifiers, which are buffs and debuffs applied to a fighter.
Fight Modifiers are special features that have a impact on the course of a fight. They may benefit either, your team or the opponent's, or both. They are present in every Daily Events fight and in every fight within the Rift Battle gamemode. Several Prize Fights and Origin Stories also include forms of Fight Modifiers.

Those modifiers are active from the start, or trigger during the course of the fight if the condition is met.

Arms Race | Suffer alternating DISABLE debuffs every 10 seconds. Using a BLOCKBUSTER or SPECIAL MOVE will remove the opposing debuff. If either debuff expires without being removed, suffer STUN for 4 seconds. |
Assassin | Start the match with 200% bonus ATTACK. |
Barbed Wire | 15% chance to inflict BLEED for 5 seconds on HIT. |
Berserker | 50% bonus damage via non-Blockbuster attacks if the opponent's HP% is higher. |
Biofeedback | When an opponent lands a CRITICAL HIT, 50% of the damage will be reflected back. |
Blood in the Water | Ignore ARMOR and DEFENSE while the enemy is below 50% HEALTH. |
Breakdown | HITS inflict ARMOR BREAK for 5 seconds if the opponent is blocking. |
Brute | Start the match with 50% bonus ATTACK. |
Bust | While suffering from a DEBUFF, being HIT by the enemy will remove all DEBUFFS and reduce your HEALTH by 20%. |
Caltrops | inflicted with BLEED for 10 seconds when DASHING BACK. |
Chaotic Evil | When suffering a DEBUFF, inflict a random DEBUFF for 10 seconds on the opponent. |
Chicks Dig Scars | Gain permanent REGEN and ENRAGE when hit with an attack that deals at least 10% MAX HEALTH. |
Clear! | Every 10 seconds, REMOVE all BUFFS and DEBUFFS from both fighters, and gain HEAVY REGEN for 5 seconds
If killed with REGEN or any active DEBUFF, revive with 50% HEALTH. |
Crippler Crossface | HITS inflict CRIPPLE for 10 seconds if opponent is blocking. |
Critical Failure | 5% chance on HIT to suffer damage equal to 25% of your total HEALTH. |
Combomancer | 5% bonus damage per current combo hit. |
Concrete Resolve | Gain permanent IMMUNITY. |
Constrictor | THROWS drain 50% meter from all opponent BLOCKBUSTERS. |
Curse of the Pharaoh | On DEATH, all oponent DEBUFFS become permanent. |
Death Clock | Inflicted with a DOOM effect, causing instant death after 30 seconds. |
Defense Mechanism | While BLOCKING, gain a 50% chance when HIT to inflict BLEED for 5 seconds. |
Die Another Day | Once per match on DEATH, revive with 50% HEALTH. |
Don't Stop Me Now | Gain UNFLICHING while DASHING FORWARD. |
Double Down | While benefiting from a BUFF, using a BLOCKBUSTER will remove all BUFFS and regenerate 20% HEALTH. |
Erosion | Inflicted with CRIPPLE and ARMOR BREAK for 10 seconds when falling below 50% HEALTH. |
Evil Presence | Inflicted with a random DEBUFF on TAG-IN and MATCH START. |
Exsanguination | Inflicted with permanent HEAVY BLEED. |
Eye for an Eye | Gain HASTE and inflict ARMOR BREAK for 10 seconds each time an opponent's attack inflicts more than 5% total health. |
First Aid | Gain HEAVY REGEN for 10 seconds when health drops below 10% |
Gambler's Fallacy | Inflicted with a random DEBUFF for 15 seconds when using a BLOCKBUSTER at an even number COMBO COUNT.

Gene Therapy | Gain permanent REGEN and ENRAGE when inflicted with any DEBUFF. |

Restrictions[]
Restrictions force the player to design their team to conform to requirements set by specific nodes or Prize Fights. Every Origin Story restricts the player to always use at least one variant belonging to the character whos origins they're playing. Additionally, every character Prize Fight also restricts the use of specific tiers, depending on which version they're playing.
Tips and Strategy[]
Fight Modifiers can be really nasty and dangerous, capable of turning an seemingly easy task into a real nightmare. When in the player's benefit, however, there are some characters that have incredible synergy with specific effects. Some Modifiers can be denied or mitigated.
Counters:[]
- You can counter Initiative and Mana Sap by not equipping any Blockbusters.
- Vampire can be countered with an HEAL BLOCK effect.
- Reactive Armor can be circumvented with buff removal, CURSE or an ARMOR BREAK effect, which several Special Moves/Blockbusters can inflict.
- IMMUNITY allows you to bypass Breakdown, Barbed Wire, Taser and Live Wire.
- Barbed Wire can be countered by using Bloodbath Eliza or any Valentine running the ICU Marquee Ability.
- Initiative can be countered with WITHER and DISABLE BLOCKBUSTERS, some fighters such as Ivy League and Bad Ms Frosty can counter it effectively.
- First Aid can be blocked with a HEAL BLOCK or CURSE, or countered with a BLEED.
- Combomancer can be mitigated by using Brain Freeze.
- That's All Folks can mitigate both: Touché and True Strike with her second SA.
Synergies:[]
- Cold Stones, Private Dick, Resonant Evil and Parasite Weave can benefit from the Nerve Agent.
- Epic Sax benefits from Combomancer.
- Concrete Resolve works well with fighters that rely on buffs, such as Surgeon General.
- Double can benefit from Sacrosanct while transmuting.
- Dread Locks can benefit from Perfect block, Taser and Barbed Wire/Live Wire.
- Most Peacocks with Assemble Cast Marquee can benefit from Zoetrope.
