Tips and Tricks
Role & Strategy
- Dark Might is a fighter with the ability to remove BUFFS and inflict a permanent CURSE and POWER SURGE from the bench when a teammate is defeated. CURSE prevents opponents from gaining BUFFS, while POWER SURGE punishes their blockbuster use. Furthermore, Dark Might's second ability makes all of his moves UNBLOCKABLE when facing a CURSED opponent, making him hard to defend against. This makes him usable in both offense and defense.
- When used offensively, Dark Might can take advantage of his UNBLOCKABLE hits to deal heavy damage with moves like HURTLING HURDLE and GIGAN ARM SWEEP. However, while he does have a high ATK stat, he lacks damage multipliers and may struggle against high-level defenders in Prize Fights.
- Beowulf has plenty of THROW-based blockbusters and specials that are inherently UNBLOCKABLE but cannot crit, which makes his ability less useful than it sounds on paper. Dark Might for this reason often thrives more on defense, where he punishes the killing of his allies with CURSE and POWER SURGE.
- While Dark Might's main way of activating his ability is by sacrificing an ally, there are other ways to have access to UNBLOCKABLE hits without sacrificing a teammate or otherwise mitigate the loss:
- Have a Valentine equipped with a FORBIDDEN PROCEDURE to quickly revive the sacrificed teammate.
- Pair with Dead of Winter, who can revive herself after a period of time.
- Pair with variants that can inflict CURSE easily, such as Purrfect Dark, Sketchy, Rhythm Rider, Unholy Host or Dark Horse. Dark horse in particular is notable due to her CURSE being timeless as well as giving Dark Might a 50% damage bonus.
- Marquee Ability: Either Marquee Ability will work for Dark Might, depending on how he is used. DEFENDING CHAMP is recommended on offense, while CHALLENGER is recommended on defense.
Stat Investment
- General Investment: As a defensive Beowulf, Dark Might is best built with HP, Meter Gain, Defense and Resistance. If used offensively, Dark Might is best built with Attack, Piercing and Special Cooldown.
- Special investment: When used in offense, Accuracy is a recommended stat to build on Dark Might, as it ensures that defenders do not resist his debuffs.
Rift Battles
- Dark Might can be a formidable defender when paired with fighters that require teammates to suffer damage or needs to be killed last. Pairing Dark Might with fighters like Megalomaniac, Death Wish, Immoral Fiber, Unholy Host or Biting Cold would require the attacking player to make a sacrifice, either suffer a permeant CURSE or activate the signature abilities of the other defenders.
- The combination of both CURSE and POWER SURGE makes Dark Might a great defender, as it makes it harder for opponents to score high points in health bonuses due to the lack of buffs and blockbuster punishment.
