Role & Strategy[]
- Altar Ego is an offensive fighter that relies on inflicting the opponent with tons of DEBUFFS, which she can then use to remove a whole chunk of her opponent's health with a TAUNT. She also has valuable utility, being able to prevent revives by killing opponents with the TAUNT. With one of the highest ATK stat in the entire game, Altar Ego is a great offensive variant that can easily take down some of the stronger defenders in the game.
- Among Double's Diamond variants, Altar Ego's unique niche is in using a TAUNT to kill and prevent the revival of defenders. This is particularly effective against defenders that can revive themselves such as Plot Twisted, Death Wish, and Last Hope, as well as variants that can revive their allies like Kill Joy. However, because the damage done by the TAUNT relies on the number of active DEBUFFS, Altar Ego will have to inflict multiple stacks of DEBUFFS quickly, which can be done through Double's Marquee Ability, CHAOS.
- Due to Altar Ego's naturally high ATK stat, players will often find that relying on CHAOS and multiple DEBUFFS is more than enough to take down some of the tougher defenders in the game, and the TAUNT naturally takes up a move slot that could be taken by a damaging move instead. Hence, it is best to simply see the TAUNT as an active button to prevent revival against the aforementioned variants.
- Altar Ego can be a problem on defense, as she can inflict DEBUFFS while she's being hit as well as inflict a lot of damage if she happens to have a TAUNT equipped. However, her defensive prowess is easily bested with the use of IMMUNITY, and Double's naturally low health stat and Altar Ego's lack of other defensive abilities make her very fragile.
- Marquee Ability: CHAOS is the recommended Marquee Ability for Altar Ego, as it provides another winning condition by inflicting tons of DEBUFFS to cripple the opponent's defense, as well as massively fueling her TAUNT-based damage.

- General Investment: As an offensive Double, Altar Ego is best built with Attack, Crit Rate, Accuracy and Piercing.
- Special investment: Meter Gain and Special Cooldown are also stats which players can choose to invest in.

- This variant's name is a pun to alter ego which references Father's villain persona as an alter ego to Benedict Wigglestein, the uncle of Numbuh 1, one of the series' main protagonists.
