¡Viva la Fiesta! is a special annual Prize Fight that celebrates Cinco de Mayo in May with extravagant rewards ranging from elemental shards, Theonite, Canopy Coins and special relics featuring exclusive fighters.

Modifiers & Restrictions[]

This Prize Fight features one modifier that affects both the players. The defense team needs to have one variant of each element affected by the modifier. The offense team has no restrictions.

PIÑATA MEXICANA
[Air, Light and Fire Element Fighters] Gain 3 stacks of a BUFF every 10 seconds and at the start of the match. The BUFF gained lasts for 10 seconds and cycles between REGEN, BLESSING, and ENRAGE.

Tips & Tricks[]

  • Offense:
    • The modifier is remarkably simple. Any fighter on the field that has an element color that shows up on the Mexican flag (Fire, Light and Air) gain three stacks of one out of three buff types every 10 seconds. This cycle will give buffs to those fighters in a set order, starting with REGEN before switching to BLESSING, then to ENRAGE, before looping back to REGEN. This benefits both sides equally, giving all elligible variants a boost to both survivability and damage output.
      • Defense teams are forced to have one of each element affected by the modifier, meaning that the offense always has to deal with the modifier. The offense however has no such restrictions, meaning that they can put variants on the field that won't benefit from the modifier but are a better option for the current situation regardless.
    • As two of the modifier buffs give a considerable boost to survivability, teams may be tankier than they usually would outside of the Prize Fight. In order for the buffs to not hinder the offense too much, they may use buff removal or CURSE users, preventing the defense from benefitting excessively from REGEN and BLESSING. Purrfect Dark and Dark Horse are great example of CURSE users, as well as Unholy Host's ability to remove all opponent BUFFs on top of inflicting CURSE. Stand Out equipped with CHAOS BANISH can keep buffs from ruining the fight very reliably, and using Ogre Achiever or Summer Salt can yield similar results albeit slower. Mean One is also recommended, as she can convert the buffs to debuffs incredibly easy while also benefitting from the modifier directly.
    • Variants such as Death Wish, Gust Buster, or Indomitable can transfer opponent BUFFs to themselves, and the latter 2 benefit from the modifier themselves.
    • Djinn Frizz can use the buffs she gains from the modifier to potentially gain stacks of permanent ENRAGE, making it easier for her to abuse her Signature Ability.
    • Fur Monger, Jawbreaker, Foot Soldier, and Soul Crusher receive a damage boost for BUFFs on themselves or the opponent.
      • Although yet to be tested further, Deal Breaker gains a variety of BUFFs whenever an opponent modifier expires.
    • Nunsense can gain a ton of buffs if she can keep herself in elemental advantage, due to the modifier giving the opponent three buffs every ten seconds, which will trigger Nunsense's Signature Ability and give her up to nine buffs per cycle.
      • While she is a variant belonging to one of the elements the modifier favors, due to how she works she will only actually benefit from it while fighting Air variants.
  • Defense:
    • When fighting a defensive team during this prize fight, it is important to be wary of Stand Out, any Valentine with the prestige, Splitting Image, Dream Band, and Evergreen Evil, among others.
